Ding dong ding dong...

Today was super special. My youth organizer/ good friend Mark! married his partner Flori in a beautiful traditional ceremony.
I dressed nice and waited for Darryl to pick me up.
The ceremony was at the Audoban center in Highland Park.
This is a picture of the altar, adorned with photos of ancestors and those who have passed.

This is how it looked from my view.
We started off with a man who spoke in native tounge, recited a poem and gave some wonderful words as well as blowing into a shell in rememberance of air being an important element.

This was them at the altar.

One of the youth ejer's sang the song "amore eterno" to Flori and Mark!.
I love that song, but the song was being dedicated to her father and all the people that have passed away in the family.
I never saw the song that way. Ever. I thought of my grandfather who passed away 2 weeks ago. I remembered of my mom's suffering. I cried, and so did Flori and Mark! It was beautiful. Made me think.
Instead of traditional rice we had bubbles! :)

Now you can get a better look at the traditional outfit that Flori wore. Symobilizing respect for her cultura.

Yay Mark!

Wonderful view from the top of where the ceremony was held.

And now to wait for reception!
We decided to go eat! We had tacos de papa y asada! Delicious. Oh and a pizza.
I was so happy because they had a California Speed machine. If you know me well, you know i love this game!

Then Jen Drove Carol,Tiff, and I to the reception. We kept entertained by listening to Jen's hipster music and speaking about colleges and fingering?.haha
That was a very, very interesting ride.

Centerpices we're super cute, i wanted one!

They served many different tamales for dinner with salad, beans, rice, bread and meat with salsa verde. Delicous. Oh and horchata and jamaica. Yessss.
We danced the night away. It was super fun. I was so happy for Mark! and Flori!
Congrats! I love both of you and wish you the best.

I wouldn't say this song got me through the day, but it mostly changed total meaning for me than it already had. Emotional but mostly Beautiful.
